Tadaa! I won my fourth Nanowrimo (out of five attempts) last night. I rushed to the finish line at the Last Ditch Write-In and ended up with 50,186 words.
I’m just a tiny bit shocked that I managed to write quite that much, but I should really have expected the feeling, as I get it every year.
So Stars Shine Brighter goes into the folder of unfinished Nanos to return to at a later date.
Next on the agenda is to take up work on the first draft of The Paradise Swarm again. And I’m very excited about that!
Continued in the same Nano-Spirit, 1600 words a day . for a week. Then I put it entirely away! The boottm just dropped out on me. Exhaustion with my self-imposed schedule (up at 5am! back at it in the evening) coupled with holiday drama = no way no how.I have, however, gotten back to writing this past week. Not the novel, yet. I am writing a short story and taking the Scrivner tutorial.Part of my problem with that there is a storyline in my novel that needs to be fixed, but it was such a HUGE document I couldn’t even fathom how to pull it and do it.Turns out that is really what Scrivner is made for. Hooked.I hope to get back to the novel in two weeks: after I have a completed draft of my short story and another of a personal essay!
Thanks for that Rebecca,For me, this week has been the hardest. After last week’s tiuamphrnt 22,000 words I’ve totally hit the wall. I’ve got so much to do this week; and next week I’ll be unable to write during the day at all, so I’m now starting to sweat a little bit. I know I’m slightly ahead of the game, but that doesn’t make me feel any better about it. I think I’ll take your advice, get in the bath, put my dinner on to cook and just mull my ideas over ready to tackle the writing bit later tonight. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s post.
